From the source to the mouth.
Do you want to spend a rather pleasant cycling tour, or do you want to dare to go on challenging tours? Both wishes will be fulfilled in the Naheland.
The Nahe cycle path is the more leisurely tour, it leads approx. 127 km along the Nahe from its source near Selbach to its mouth in the Rhine near Bingen. The route leads through romantic river valleys and the wine-growing region of the Nahe.
Through the idyllic former Oldenburg residence Birkenfeld to Idar-Oberstein, the jewellery and gemstone town on the upper Nahe with its landmark, the "Felsenkirche". Via Kirn and Bad Sobernheim to Bad Münster am Stein and Bad Kreuznach, the spa metropolises of the Naheland, before reaching the Rhine in Bingen, the town of St. Hildegard.
The side trips leave nothing to be desired. Idyllic squares, beautiful small villages, interesting museums, medieval town centres, castles and palaces, but also steep climbs and difficult stretches are to be mastered.
These tours stretch over 500 kilometres and are connected to the main route, the Naheradweg.

Erbeskopf - The highest elevation in Rheinland-Pfalz
EXPERIENCE AND ENJOY NATURE WITH ALL YOUR SENSES
.... directly at the foot of the Erbeskopf, the highest elevation of Rhineland-Palatinate (816m above sea level) lies the National Park and Nature Park Info Point.
The first National Park exhibition in the future National Park in the Hunsrückhaus am Erbeskopf is one of the starting points for a tour of the National Park.
The common goal with our cooperation partners, the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park and the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park, is to give locals and tourists, families, kindergartens and school classes, hikers and groups of senior citizens, experts and the general public an eventful understanding of the natural and cultural features around the Erbeskopf of the highest elevation in Rhineland-Palatinate (816m above sea level).
In the course of the development of the Hunsrückhaus into a national park gate, the current outdoor area with adventure area, sensory experience path and children's playground will also be fundamentally redesigned. We ask for your understanding, if it comes therefore to impairments.

Enjoy the Erbeskopf with all your senses!
The Erbeskopf recreation area is located in the core zone of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park and in the national park backdrop of the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park. Extensive forests, valuable biotopes, hillside moors, rare animal and plant species and magnificent views invite you to explore the area around the highest mountain on the left bank of the Rhine north of the Vosges. In clear weather, the view from above extends far across the Hunsrück landscape to the volcanic mountains of the Eifel, the Schaumberg near Tholey in Saarland and the Donnersberg in the Palatinate.

Discover the National Park
The Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park covers an area of 10,000 hectares and extends over the high altitudes of the Hunsrück.
The Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) already considers the area a "hotspot region for biological diversity".
Rustic forests and a species-rich fauna and flora characterise the picture. A low mountain range with almost endless forest areas characterises the landscape and separates it from the surrounding, well-known wine-growing areas, the Moselle, the Rhine, the Nahe and the Saar.
